Latest Procedures for Handling Hanjin Shipping Co. Cargo and Equipment
The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ) announced the latest procedures for handling Hanjin Shipping Co. cargo and equipment.
http://breakingwaves3.wpengine.com/updated-procedures-regarding-hanjin-cargo-and-equipment/ The Hanjin Miami is expected to dock at Maher Terminals on Thursday, September 22nd, for discharge. There will be no export containers loaded back onto the Hanjin Miami, and all bookings have been cancelled. You can find out more details at
https://apps.maherterminals.com/csp/homeAction.do?method=login.
Reportedly the PANYNJ in an email message has stated that only the empty containers that result from an import load discharged this week from the Hanjin Miami can be returned to Maher Terminals. None of the terminals or depots are currently receiving any empty containers from a Hanjin import (except those mentioned above). If you have a non-Hanjin container (anything other than those with the prefix HJCU, HJSU or SENU) which was used for an import booked through Hanjin, you may contact the container leasing
company to determine where that container can be returned.
