Mr. Tomao will share details on the new regulations regarding the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP)
The FDA FSMA rule on Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) for Importers of Food for Humans and Animal - has been established with the first compliance date already set for May 30, 2017.
The final rule requires that importers perform certain risk-based activities to verify that food imported into the United States has been produced in a manner that meets applicable U.S. safety standards. Mr . Tomao will discuss the program fully and will also discuss any other relevant areas of interest regarding the import and export of food and drugs and is open to any questions from the Westconn membership on FDA activities.
